Jan's Apprenticeship With Pam

With a folk art grant from the Wisconsin Arts Boards Jan studied for a year with Vesterheim Gold Medal rosemaler Pam Rucinski. Jan's studies began in July, 2014 and continued through May, 2015. She focused on the Gudbrandsdal style rosemaling but the interlacing of styles means they touched on many others as well. The aim of this blog is to show Jan's progress through the months of study. April 15, 2015 getting ready for last visit with Pam

Yesterday I worked on a Gudbrandsdal pattern from the Johan Amrud book called Ornamental Woodcarving in the Norwegian Tradition.
